Saturday, April 14th, 2012Motorcycle rider killed in freak accident on SW Freeway
Monday, August 29th, 2011A very unusual accident caused a huge backup Friday evening on the Southwest Freeway. Traffic crawled as investigators looked into a crash in which a man fell through the windshield and into a car.
The motorcycle was found upright and leaning against the HOV exterior wall. Authorities say they don’t know how or why the driver of the Suzuki motorcycle lost control.
It happened during rush hour about 4pm Friday. The driver of that motorcycle was traveling southbound on the 59 South HOV lane near Edloe, when somehow, the driver fell of the motorcycle and over the barrier wall. The driver’s body fell at least 50 feet and onto the lower freeway crashing into the windshield of a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the motorcycle died instantly, say authorities. Despite that horrible crash, the driver of the Camry was able to stop his car and received only minor cuts to his hands and arms say police.

However, it would be 15 minutes before the nearest patrol car could reach her. No longer able to watch her baby sweat inside the car as the sweltering Florida heat grew more intense, she finally started to look for help. Greg noticed the peculiar body language of the distressed women when she yelled at him for help. “What’s the problem?” he yelled back from the passenger side of his brother’s truck. After the woman replied, Greg dashed to the side of the car to assess the situation. (more…)
