Advanced Bio-Treatment Expands Scene Cleanup Services With New Tampa Office

In order to provide faster response to local scene cleanup needs, Advanced Bio-Treatment will soon open a new office in Tampa, Florida. The new office will serve the Tampa Bay area and all surrounding areas including Miami, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and St. Petersburg.

Hiring and training will begin soon for the Tampa Bay office. ABT Scene Cleanup Work

Pennsylvania – Unattended death in Bethlehem PA. When a parent passes on and they live in a rental things can get tricky. First you need to look at the contractual obligations of the tenant. It may say only “unintentional” damage must be paid for by the tenant. If so, the remaining family does not have to pay for the cleanup. Refer the apt mgr to us.

Maryland – Unattended death in Baltimore MD. Gentleman passed in a row house.

Maryland - Today we responded to an unattended death scene in Randallstown MD where a previous company had removed carpet and padding, some sheetrock and used primer to cover blood on a sub floor. They left furniture and other items that had been affected by bodily fluids. They were supposed to make the scene safe for family to remove personal effects.

Biohazard Question – I got an email today wondering if, because someone urinated in his yard, should he have the yard treated for biohazards. Truthfully, I was a bit stumped. People and animals urinate outside all the time. Although cautious is good, let’s not be hypersensitive to possible disease. It takes the fun out of life. :-)

Destin Duo Whips Up Breakfast For Captains Hunting Oil

Greg Reidinger and Jerry Turner have felt adrift and landlocked, wondering how they can contribute to the efforts of oil cleanup on the Gulf.

On Thursday morning, they gave it a shot.

After awaking at about 3 a.m., Reidinger and Turner prepared dozens of sausage, egg and cheese biscuits and five gallons of coffee for the captains and crew of the vessels of opportunity, which are scouring areas offshore for signs of oil. As the seagoers attended the morning safety briefing behind Fisherman’s Wharf, they were greeted with a tailgate full of free breakfast.

“I’m not with a crew,” said Reidinger. “I’m stuck at the dock doin’ nothin’.”

Reidinger is a yacht broker with MarineMax in Destin and, while his profession depends on the salvaging of the Gulf,  has not had the hands-on opportunity to help.

Turner is an avid scuba diver and the founder and owner of Destin-based Advanced Bio-Treatment.

“They were hesitant, because they didn’t know why I was out there,” said Reidinger. “But after they saw all the coolers they came over. “

Reidinger said that he was surprised to see that the crews were most appreciative of the water that he provided.

“It’s because of all the stuff they have to wear,” Reidinger said.

The pair said they will likely serve up breakfast again soon.

“It was a good time to say ‘hey’ and tell them to have a good day,” said Reidinger. “We all make a living on the water and we have to help out where we can. We just wanted to brighten up their spirits. I know these guys would rather be fishing.”

Also its popularity stemmed from the fact that practically anyone with a kitchen could produce the stuff provided they have a criminal bent.
