Gregory Richard Turner of Atlanta Georgia, brother of Advanced Bio Treatment President and CEO Jerry Turner, went above and beyond the call of duty during a lunch break with co-workers.  A woman while loading groceries into her car, turned away from her vehicle at a Wal-mart in Gibsonton, Fla.;  leaving her child undisturbed from a nap.  Upon turning back, she realized that the car automatically locked itself with the keys inside.  After six minutes of quietly freaking out she called the police. However, it would be 15 minutes before the nearest patrol car could reach her.  No longer able to watch her baby sweat inside the car as the sweltering Florida heat grew more intense,  she finally started to look for help.  Greg noticed the peculiar body language of the distressed women when she yelled at him for help.  “What’s the problem?” he yelled back from the passenger side of his brother’s truck.  After the woman replied, Greg dashed to the side of the car to assess the situation. After calling three crime and trauma scene cleanup companies looking for the best price, a man paid top dollar (I am being sarcastic of course) for a crime scene cleanup company to sanitize his hot tub.  A week earlier a person had died in this eight-person, 14 jet, in-ground behemoth while enjoying what would be his or her last dip.  Instead of a company vehicle or an extensive array of equipment, a solitary man in a basketball jersey and baggy athletic shorts showed up without a single item to perform his job.  (more…)

Illness Prevention – Staph Infection and MRSA Cleanup Company Cleans College Gym to Prevent Disease

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Approximately 450 persons were evacuated to an Alabama gymnasium during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. After the emergency was over the gym was a mess. Concerned about the safety of teachers and students, the school President had to act immediately to make sure it was safe for repopulation of the student body. The idea about cleanup was illness prevention – to make sure no MRSA or Staph infection would begin as a result of packing so many people into a small gymnasium for a week. As a trusted and highly recommended MRSA cleaning company, Advanced Bio-Treatment was hired for a complete disinfection and cleanup of the gym and other common areas.

MRSA, methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, is a type of staph infection that can be quite deadly if not cleaned up. It is mainly known to be contracted in hospitals but has made its way into places where large groups of people congregate and have little access to hygienic outlets. MRSA usually penetrates the body through cuts in the skin and will cause severe infection. The hospital-based bacteria may have similar characteristics to a rug-burn, which may dilute any perception of alarm, however, if untreated can spread to the lungs and blood causing life-threatening diseases. Disinfection and cleanup is necessary to prevent MRSA or other Staph infections.

The health hazard that is posed by an outbreak of an infectious disease such as staph and its drug resistant strain, MRSA, is quite startling. To reduce the likelihood of a Staph Infection or MRSA threat, ABT had to disinfect and clean up floors, locker rooms, bathrooms, the concession area, as well as, blankets and cots. Advanced Bio Treatment  understood the risks and had the proper training necessary in eradicating, through cleaning and disinfection, any potential MRSA or Staph infection.
