Professional Scene Cleaning Prevents Commercial Liability

Sunday, October 24th, 2010

The failure of a landlord or a private business to adequately and fully clean a crime or accident scene after the occurrence of such an incident could result in the imposition of liability against that party. If a crime occurs in an apartment, for instance, and blood or other organic tissue is not completely removed a real problem could ensue if that person who bled had been ill. Should a subsequent tenant contract an illness or rash or something it could be attributable to the improper cleanup.  Then the landlord could be liable for leasing a space that is unfit for habitation.

The procurement of a crime scene cleaning company, accident scene cleaning company, blood scene cleaning company, trauma scene cleaning company, homicide scene cleaning company, suicide scene cleaning company, meth lab cleaning company and bio hazard cleaning company that performs a thorough decontamination and attests to such can effectively serve as a defense to any such liability. Their insurance can also provide a liability shield for the landlord.

As for crimes or accidents that occur in a public space or a governmental agencies building the calculus could be different. The controlling factor in such situations is whether the public agency has any conferred immunity from some state statute or even constitution. Frequently, state constitutional or statutory provisions will protect cities, counties or states from liability for the failure to adequately make sanitary a public property after a crime or accident.

There are some exceptions, however, wherein gross negligence, evidenced by an obvious permission of a dangerous condition to persist, could revoke, or act as an exception to, the usual immunity. In these instances, the governmental agency would also be wise to bring in professional crime scene cleaners, accident scene cleaners, homicide scene cleaners or death scene cleaners, suicide scene cleaners, meth lab scene cleaners and blood scene cleaners to take care of a particular condition.

Basics of Unattended Death Cleanup

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

An unattended death cleaning is much more than just removal of a body. Unattended death cleaning companies generally also do murder scene cleanings, crime scene cleanings, homicide scene cleanings, suicide scene cleanings, blood scene cleanings, meth lab cleanings, staph infection cleanings, mrsa infection cleanings and bio hazard cleanings. These experiences give the unattended death scene cleaners the correct perspective on how to approach the job.

First, they must check with law enforcement authorities to determine the length of time the corpse has been there. By knowing this information, the unattended death scene cleaning company staff can assess the probabilities that the decomposed tissue, blood, organic material and odor could have seeped in to a location’s walls, flooring, grout, subfloors, upholstery and cement.  The longer the time, the more difficult the odor remediation.

They, of course, must dispose of all the visible items that are left from the corpse: bodily fluids, blood, discarded or separated tissue, feces and even limbs. Usually removal of some of these items involves coordination with the police particularly if the police intend to maintain an open investigation into the cause of death and whether it was a homicide. The professional character of the unattended death cleaning companies is an important aspect when choosing such a company. Their ability to work well with the police shall be a factor in the proper completion of their duties.

And when the unattended corpse is found by a family member, the unattended death cleaning company or death scene cleaning company, if professional, shall be cognizant of the need to treat the family of the deceased with the respect and sensitivity it deserves.

Death Scene Cleanup At Apartment Complex Robbery Gone Wrong

Friday, July 30th, 2010

Crime scene cleanup and homicide clean up is messy business. It requires a knowledge of crime scene investigation tactics and death scene cleanup technique. However, when there is a shooting at an apartment complex which affects the lives of many other families, a death scene cleanup company can make a real contribution to the community. This is just such a story.

The apartment complex was bifurcated in to two parts connected only by an unofficial path through the woods behind the buildings. Five men in one of the apartments discussed a plan to sell five weapons, two shotguns and three pistols, to some guys who lived on the other side of the complex. The kicker was that, after the “guys on the other side” showed them that they had the requisite money to purchase the guns, they would hold the guys up and take the money. They figured they could get away with it as the other guys were illegal aliens who had been working in the States for years but
never sought residency or citizenship.

When they went over to the “other side” one of the trigger-happy robbers started shooting killing three of the guys and seriously wounding another who had to have a bullet removed from near his chest and have his leg amputated. The police came but no one had seen it happen, and the only survivor, had not been in on the original deal so he had never seen these guys before and his observation of them lasted for only a few moments. After the police had the corpses removed, they advised the apartment complex to bring in a death scene cleanup company.

The death scene cleanup company, whose experience included suicide scene, accident scene, meth lab, odor removal and other death scene clean ups in addition to blood scene clean ups, first consulted with the police to verify all of the evidence they needed had been processed. Then they removed all the pieces of cartilage and tissue from the scene before cleaning all the blood from the site. They then applied decontaminants to this outside location. They concluded by assessing the area again and confirming to the property company and the police that they had completed their homicide scene cleaning.

Biohazard Cleanup A Modern Component Of Emergency Response

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Once the province of science fiction movies, bio hazard cleanup companies now have become an important part of our country’s landscape and it is anticipated that they will continue to play a significant role in helping society maintain a safe environment that does not pose high risks to our health. The need for these bio hazard cleaning companies derives from the multiplicity of companies that rely on or manufacture complex chemicals either for scientific or industrial purposes. Bio hazard clean up companies also secured a niche in our emergency response efforts or homeland security system. First of all, there is an obvious need for a bio hazard cleanup company to be a first responder in any situation where it is believed that a biological weapon or virus has been deployed. The imperative that a bio hazard be neutralized may be no less important than defusing a ticking, conventional bomb.

Then there is also the need, should any such biological hazard be neutralized to make sure any and remnants of the hazard are identified, monitored and destroyed. To the extent that a virus is exposed to the greater public, either by accident or intentionally, the bio hazard cleaners must go beyond extinguishing the obvious manifestations of a virus. A stringent monitoring of any vicinity, within a certain radius dependent upon the nature of the targeted virus, is warranted to ensure that a contagious virus does not spread.

If a risk that a virus may have spread unabated, a good bio hazard cleaning company will advise people who may have occupied a particular area within range of a hazard or virus, to see a doctor or appropriate medical authorities.

If it can be satisfactorily confirmed that a hazard has been neutralized before it causes any harm, the ultimate targets of any terrorist attack, the public at large will be relieved from the very terror the terrorists wish to spread. The bio hazard cleanup companies hence can solve a practical problem, the extinguishment of a biological hazard. They can also be part of that homeland security designed to keep the populace at peace.

Hopefully you’ll never have reason to see these folks dressed in blue, protective suits with masks in your neck of the woods. But in today’s day and age, it won’t be just in the movies.
